Stormy 09-418

Profile

Let me introduce you to one of RAGOM's newest members.  His name is Stormy.  Stormy will be one year old on November 27.  Stormy came in this past weekend from a hobby breeder from southern Iowa.  Stormy weighs in at just over 50 pounds and will likely gain more.  He has a light to medium red coat with just the start of some feathering on his legs.

Now for the not so good news.  Stormy has a really bad case of whip worms and round worms.  We were sent home with a couple different medicines to help clear these parasites up.  Stormy also has a little open wound just under neath his right eye.  We will be going back to our friendly vet next week for a re-check and provided all is well we will bring his vaccinations up to date.  We will also find out then when Stormy will under go the neuter surgery.

In less than 3 days of arriving this little guy is showing more confidence and a little bit of that playful puppy personality.  He has no idea what toys are but he really does like to chase after the other goldens in the yard.  We have also taken Stormy for a couple of short walks punctuated by frequent stops and untangles.  Barking dogs and cars seem to scare him but with lots of "good boy" cheers he rebounds very fast.  The pictures are not the best as it is really hard to get Stormy to sit still for more than a few seconds at a time.  He has so much "golden" living to do.

It is with a heavy heart I am sending you this picture of our dear friend, Stormy 09-418. We had the pleasure of adopting this fine boy from RAGOM in November of 2009. I wanted to let you know on 6/29/16 Stormy crossed over the Rainbow bridge. We noticed a change in his behavior after a trip to the groomers so we took him to the vet. They found multiple tumors on his spleen and kidneys in which one or more had ruptured so he was bleeding internally. Since the cancer had spread his prognosis was not good. We were by his side as he crossed over.

Stormy was such a cuddly loving dog who loved to give hugs. Even though he was only 7 years old, he still had so much puppy in him. We will miss him dearly!

Thanks,
Sue and Sean N

From Stormy's forever family...

Here is an update on Stormy.

We've had Stormy in our house for a little over a month and he is getting along nicely with our chocolate lab, Riley. It has been so much fun watching Stormy come out of his shell. He is coming up to us wanting to be pet and gets a little jealous when we are paying attention to Riley instead of him. Of course, he is getting tons of attention from our two children and us. Who can resist those big ears?!

The new snowfall has brought another treat for him. He really enjoys running around our big yard and digging his nose into the snow and flipping it up on himself! What a treat for us to watch him run around and chase Riley!

We are so thankful to RAGOM for finding this gem of a boy for us! We already love him so much!

Thanks to FD Kelly, for taking such good care of him before we took him home!

Happy Holidays!

Hello RAGOM fans!  Stormy wanted to share his news with you that he has now found his forever home.  In just three short weeks this adorable guy with big feet has transformed from a scared, smelly dog to a beloved indoor family member.  Stormy was adopted on Saturday by a super terrific family.  He is now part of the N. family and has two loving parents and their two children plus a big furr brother named Riley.  Stormy has a very nice home complete with a big back fenced in yard to play until his heart's content.

FD waited a whole day before calling in to see how Stormy was settling in.  And we are happy to report that Stormy is doing well even if he ate some of Riley's food out of his dish.

Congratulations N. family and Stormy!  FD and the pack hope to see you in the future.

Stormy hopes all of you RAGOM fans had as much fun as he did this past weekend.  He sure had lots of fun playing in the backyard with his foster siblings.  To him play was just running in the same direction as the big dogs were.  He does not quite know what all the hoopla is about throwing a tennis ball and then running as fast as you can to get it.  To him it was just plain fun to run.  Stormy is also getting more used to walks using the Gentle Leader.  He stops from time to time to try and wiggle out of it but he just can not quite do it.  He is so much fun and a joy to watch as he usually walks right between Mya (09-345) and Lauren (08-498).  They sometimes squish him in the middle and force him to walk in a straight line instead of bobbing and weaving from side to side.  If FD spoke dog I am sure his older sisters are telling him to walk on his own four legs and stop stepping on theirs.

Stormy did have a really nice family come and meet him on Saturday morning.  They liked him so much that they want to make him a permanent member of their household.  Stormy will be going back to his friendly vets this Wednesday for his neuter procedure and to re-check for the worm parasites that he had.  If all goes well and the worms are gone he will soon be joining his new family. Thanks for reading up on Stormy and the many fine dogs available through RAGOM.
