Profile

Hello Everyone. This is Rusty coming at you live from Blaine. I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am a neutered purebred Golden Retriever, born 10/31/06 and house trained! I went to the vet this week and was told I am in GReat health. However, I am missing one of my bottom teeth, but the vet thinks it probably just never came in. I could stand to lose about 10 pounds as I weigh 92- Foster mom is surprised I don't weigh more as I was "free fed" in my last home.

I was brought into the RAGOM family because of an illness in my family; they just couldn't keep up with all the energy of a young pup like myself and deal with an illness. I lived with them for 1 1/2 years after they rescued me from a farm where I was being neglected and living in a shack. In my life I've had to spend a lot of time alone and foster mom has promised me that will not happen to me again- she says that given my background, she is shocked at how well behaved I am. Because I had to spend so much time alone, I follow foster mom wherever she goes, she tells me I am a "Velcro dog." My foster family has 2 resident dogs and we all get along REALLY well- we sleep, eat and play together so I would not mind going to a home with another dog. We have lots of toys to play with here, stuffed babies are my favorite. Just like senior resident Maggie, I like to rip the stuffing out of the babies but Foster Mom says that's OK because Maggie use to rip them until she was 5. We don't have any cats or small kids here so I haven't been able to show foster mom how well I can behave around them and she has been too sick this week to take me out so I can show her but I'm sure I will love them when I meet some. I haven't had a lot of grooming in my life as you might be able to seen in my picture, I have a "lion mane" around my neck. When my new family takes me in for a grooming, I will be irresistibly handsome. FM has brushed me and clipped my nails and I sat really well for both.

Foster mom (FM) says I am a "dream dog" and if she could have another dog, she would keep me. FM hopes I am adopted by a family that lives nearby because she would love to see me often and wants to dog sit if my family has to take a vacation without me.

I have an abundance of love and kisses to give a family that can promise to give me the same but most importantly, I need your time and attention; something I haven't had a lot of in my life...could YOU be the right family for me????
