Ebony 06-009

Profile

1/7/06: Ebony looks just like a baby Ewok (for those of you that are Star Wars lovers). A little black bundle of fur, her mom was a Flat-Coated/Golden Retriever mix and dad was a Golden Retriever. If you have never heard of a Flat-Coated Retriever, take a look at some of these pictures from the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America http://www.fcrsainc.org/photogallery/. This breed is beautiful!! I’ve always wanted a Flat-Coated and would be tempted to keep her for myself except that I already have two female dogs.

Get your app in quickly if you don’t want to miss out. This little girl won’t be available for long.

I writing to let RAGOM know that Emma, formerly known as Ebony 06-009, crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday (6/22/17). She had a cancerous tumor on her tongue that eventually caused her too much pain, despite pain meds, and refusal of food. She was 11 years and 7 months old. We adopted her from RAGOM when she was 9 weeks.

She was a wonderful member of our family and we will miss her greatly. Truly, she was the sweetest, most loving dog we've known.

Thank you for helping to bring her into our lives.

Sincerely,

Karen K

Emma (f.k.a Ebony) does still have a heart murmur, but it is stable. It's a level 2 and the vet is comfortable with just monitoring it right now. It does not slow Emma down at all. She is a happy, bouncy, confident, loving puppy. She graduates from Puppy School next Tuesday so I'll be sure to send pictures of that occasion. We keep in contact with Monty (Elway), Emma's litter mate and that is fun. They look identical.

Emma is still having fun with her brother, Tiger, our cat. I'll send you a picture of them. They are quite funny with the way they wrestle each other. I'm certain the cat enjoys Emma too. He needed some one to play with. He chooses to sleep in the same room that Emma is crated in during the day.

Here are some recent pictures of Emma f.k.a Ebony. She is now 12 lbs and is doing well. Our vet says her heart murmor is a level 2 and is stable. She has learned the commands "sit", "down", and "come". We are very proud of her and feel blessed to have her as part of our family :)

Ebony had her check up today and it went pretty good all in all. She is now Parvo Negative. She has a little cold so we are treating that. The doctor also heard a small heart mummer but feels she will grow out of this. However, we are going to go back on the 25th of January and get that checked out to make sure it is gone and then do the second round of shots.

Ebony weighed in at 7 pounds today. I could not believe it, she is doing wonderful and is so ready to meet prospective families so she can go at the end of the month. If you are interested please contact Placement.

Ebony is back in black – she is feeling good and starting to eat and play more and more. We still do not know what she and Newton caught but she did not have it as bad as our little Newton. Ebony is now playing rough house with her brother Elway and boy do they go at it.

Ebony is sleeping in a crate at night and she has a big play pen she shares with Elway and Newton. However, when she wants to sleep, she goes into the crate along with everyone else. It is pretty funny to see them all on top of each other.

Ebony should be back on the availability list this weekend once we figure out what she and Newton had and I hope that will be tomorrow or Thursday. Ebony was put on a few medications just to make sure she does not get sick again but it is only for 5 days.

If you are interested in our little Ebony, please send placement a note so we can contact you when it is safe.
