Ellie 12-002

Profile

Here is Ellie, a lovely 10 year old PB Golden Girl. She weighs 63 lbs, which is her ideal weight.

Ellie was rescued by a good Samaritan, who brought her to RAGOM. Here is the info the rescue mom has shared with us:

  • Ellie has had a number of litters, probably the last one about 6 months ago.
  • She is great with kids and dogs, ignores cats, is crate trained and rides great in a car.
  • She has no anxieties, and no resource guarding.

We thank you for rescuing Ellie, and the great care you gave her.

Ellie has been with us for a couple days, and she is really a sweet girl.

She has been a bit timid, and resting a lot ( a rest well deserved!).

Everyday she has been adapting better to the good life. She had her first vet visit, and is now UTD on shots. Her heart worm test came back negative, and in general, she is in very good health. Ellie does have a parasite infection, and she will be on an antibiotics for 4 weeks. The vet feels there is no long term damage, and will have a full, healthy recovery. Ellie will be able to be spayed in about 3 to 4 weeks, and then should be available for adoption to her forever family.

She is a beautiful, easy going girl, that loves to be brushed, patted, and praised. Did I mention, Ellie likes to talk to us - I think she is telling us that she likes this good life.

Keep this special girl in mind. I will continue to keep you updated on Ellie’s progress. If you are an approved family and have interest in meeting Ellie, please contact your placement advisor.

It is with such great sadness that I let Ragom know that my beautiful girl Ellie, 12-002, crossed the Bridge on Monday, 5/23 exactly 2 weeks after my Corgi, Ellie's buddy Jinx. Below is what I posted on FaceBook last week.

Miss Ellie, also known as 'my beauty', was truly one of the nicest, sweetest dogs I've ever had. She shared her bed with Jinx and Lily, not by choice but she did, and she never growled or lifted her lip, not even when Jinx would try to herd her. All she wanted was to be loved and for the last 4 years, that's what she got from me and my girls. Today I said good-bye to my beauty, Miss E as Uncle Harry Hartigan called her, and now she and Jinxie are together again. Miss Ellie had just turned 14. I love you my beauty! Damn arthritis!

Take a look at Ellie – she had a ‘spa day’. A complete session of pampering, trimmed nails, ears cleaned, special moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and a full body massage.

She sat there so nicely, and enjoyed it all. As you can see, she has a beautiful golden blonde coat. Ellie not only had a ‘feel good day’, but also had fun socializing. She met many new people, and dogs, and she did great with both. She also had the chance to play with her special poodle friend.

They shared toys, romped a bit and settled in for a relaxing eve. Ellie has really blossomed. She has a routine, and feels safe and confident with it. She likes to spend time with us, go outside for some short playtime and walks, and then come back indoors and relax. She is friendly and social when she meets new people or other dogs. I see Ellie doing best with a family more laid back. We’ll keep you updated with Ellie’s new experiences.
