Stubby 12-218

Profile

Stubby, the Stubster, Stubs, Stuborama, Stubbykins, the Stubman; it’s just so hard not to give this funny fur butt all sorts of nicknames. His name is an obvious reflection of his lack of a tail, but just because he doesn’t have a tail doesn’t mean he doesn’t wag it! His little butt just wags away, he is such a happy dog!

Stubby become part of our crazy household a week ago, and has just fit right in. He has the sweetest personality and just likes to hang with the gang. He loves to go for our daily walks, only he doesn’t walk, he prances, and certainly doesn’t act like he is 9. He has been introduced to four new dogs and a cat since arriving, and has had no issues with meeting any of them. In fact, he has a little crush on my brother’s black lab mix! He just followed her around all weekend, while at the lake.

Stubby is not up to date and is intact at this point, but he seems very healthy. He will be completely vetted this week, including a neuter and a teeth cleaning, and then he will be ready for adoption. I think he would fit well with any family, all ages of children, as he is very gentle. He enjoys the company of other dogs, and may be lonely without a second dog in the house. He also tends to wander, not in a ha! ha! you can’t catch me sort of way, but more a, I just like to meander around and check things out sort of way, so a fence or tie out is probably appropriate.

Hello

It is with great sorrow that I must inform you that Cooper (aka Stubby, but he hated that name) was put to sleep a couple of weeks ago. He ended up getting a cancerous growth in his nose and could not breathe.

He was an incredible dog and touched many lives in his short time with me. I'm blessed to have been his friend these past 4.5 years.

I'm attaching some pictures of the day I got him and his final days.

Thank you
Mike McD

Stubby here.

What’s up? Yea, that’s right, I am talking to you! This cool dude  just can’t figure out why you aren’t bringing it, as in, coming to see me and check me out.  That’s right, I am bragging myself up, showing you the goods, bringing the heat, upping theante, talking smack. You just can’t find a better senior dog than me. I get along with all other dogs, I ignore cats, I am in perfect health, and I am a lover not a fighter. I spent the hottest week of the summer at the lake, and hung with all the other furbutts that were there. At first, I wanted nothing to do with the water, but finally, with the heat and the fact that my best friend Gladys spent all her waking hours in the water, I finally got in. I even did it all by myself, ahhh! It felt so good.

My mostendearing trait, according to FM is the fact that I stand looking out the window waiting for her to come home, and when I see her, I give her a GREAT BIG SMILE!  FM says that the only two things I need to work on are the occasional (it is only occasional) accidentin the house and FM blames herself for not getting me out in time, and not coming right back when I am called. I do love to wander a bit, I never go far but sometimes I pretend I am deaf. I never run from FM though when she comes after me, I just stand andwait for her. Check me out, I am one happening dog!
