Let me introduce YOU let me make you smile!!! My name is Shadow and I am precious little old guy.  I am about 10 years old; I love my people and want to be in your lap, or by your side.  I was found wondering around, with no place to go and no one to love.  Well that has all changed!  I am a lucky boy who being fed and cared for and have a wonderful safe place to rest my head.  I need a forever like this; I promise you that I will give you love in return and lots of it.  Please consider giving me my forever. I will be your constant companion for the rest of my life.

Hello this is Foster Mom (FM) with Shadows first update – Shadow came into RAGOM care about 4 weeks ago, his ears have clearly been infected for so long that he is hard of hearing.  What a painful way to live for this guy.  The ears have been treated and have cleared up nicely, but because of the long term results of no vetting Shadow cannot hear very well.  I believe he can hear some sounds but they have to be loud.  That will require that Shadow have a fenced yard to protect him from wondering away.  Of course with age Shadow has back legs that are old and weary.  FM has him on Rimadyl and the results have been just wonderful in the last 2 weeks.  For a boy his age he is a mover and shaker, but does lay down a lot.  He loves walks however they need to be short for now to build the strength back up in his muscles.  FM got him neutered this week, his teeth were cleaned (they were so horrible) and we were concerned that he may need to have a few extracted.  No extractions were necessary!!  His blood work is showing Shadow as anemic so with constant care and nutrition we are hoping to see that clear up. Shadow’s white cell count was very high and has been on antibiotics for a week now and appears that we are moving in the right direction.  The only concern that I have at this time is every once in a while for some reason he will get a bloody nose.  No known reason for that now!!

We are walking every day and his legs are much better.  He is just a sweet ol guy that wants to be right by your side (or Nellies)!! Loves his food and really loves to get his "ME" time with you. He deserves to live the Golden life now after a life of neglect. He will be your best buddy!!! I cannot wait until we can get neutered so we all can have a rest from his love affair with Nellie (who does not love him back).

Look at that sweet face; doesn’t this guy deserve a really great forever?  Yep he does!!  He follows me everywhere, has found the couch J and is just fabulous in his kennel!!  He sleeps in my room all night without a peep and is great in the kennel while I am at work.  One of the cutest things about him is how his face just MELTS when he sees you, he is so happy to see you come into a room or let him in from outdoors.  Last night he was on the couch with us and sleeping with his head in my lap.  This poor old guy has not had the life that a golden deserves (well any dog.)  Let’s give it to him.  Please contact RAGOM if you want to give this man his forever home.  I promise you will not be sorry.  Shadow has the most precious personality, kisses for everyone just bend down and he will give you a lick.

Shadow (13-191) boy is now running the rainbow bridge. In 2013 Shadow was picked up off the streets in very poor health. Thanks to RAGOM and Barb the foster mom, Shadow thrived and he became my boy in May of 2014! He did not have a mean bone in his body. True to his name he followed me everywhere. Shadow had a "stroke" which made my tenacious boy frustrated and sad. He began his run of the rainbow bridge on Monday, October 17. Miss you Shadow boy!

Hi there all you Shadow FANS!!  I am so sorry for my tardiness in my updates on this sweet boy.  Shadow is fabulous in every way he has completely recovered from the vestibular syndrome episode.  He is so healthy and happy and just fits in to the family pack so well, I forget he is not mine.  But the fact is he is not and he really needs to find his forever home.

We are back walking everyday and I think this ole boy is stronger that ever, we are losing a bit of "Winter" weight with our good brisk walks.  Last night we went out to the golf course and was hoping the snow would not be terribly bad......well it was but Shadow just kept chugging along to follow the pack...he is just a wonderful boy.

  • Do you need someone to snuggle with?
  • Do you need a shadow?
  • Do you need a companion for the rest of your life?
  • Do you need a sleeping buddy?
  • How about someone to eat with?
  • How about someone to visit you in the bathroom??

Well then I have just the man for you, Shadow Bedazzel I promise he will warm your heart everyday, keep you smiling and promise to be your very best friend!!  This sweet boy is so grateful to be off the cold streets and in a warm house and LOVE somebody, and is just wonderful around all other dogs, is cat friendly.  He needs to have a house with few stairs because of his legs, but can go up a few stairs.

Please contact your placement advisor if you would like to know more about this wonderful boy!

WOW my Foster Mom is slaaaacking - So I will write this all by myself

I just want to send a quick note to say HI and let you know what is going on in Dayton!!

I had a little bout of Vestibular syndrome I was confused and not feeling well at all :-(  My momma took really good care of me while I struggled to focus, walk, or eat.  But I am recovering very well now and am so happy I am not so dizzy and scared.  It can be caused by "age" or an inner ear infection.  Mom got me some meds just in case it was my ears.

I have gained a bit of weight and foster mom says it is all her fault.......now I am being cut off of some of the goodies I get and a little less food, I have to say I am not such a fan!
When this nasty winter goes away we will get to exercise a bit more and should shed some of this weight, FM is excited to get walking again too!!

Everything is wonderful and I love life, I sure could use a FUREVER family to call my own....
Thanks for keeping me in your heart and mind and FM says she will not wait so long to update my page, that's good because it is tough to type :-)  Moahhhhhh Love U

Hello everyone Foster Mom here, just wanted to give an update on Shadow Bedazzel's progress!!  All of it is the best news :-) Shadow's sinus issues seem to be all cleared up, not one bloody nose in months!! Yippie Little hard of hearing but can hear some noises and is very intuitive and watchful.

Shadow has grown in the following ways:

  • His coat is just gorgeous, thick and wavy completely transformed
  • His health is wonderful, with his legs getting stronger every day!  He walks and runs free in the golf course and is doing really great from when he came into RAGOM.
  • Loves children and will snuggle with them; he is so precious in that way.
  • Starting to play with Moose and it is just so fun to see them play together
  • Ears are all clear
  • Eyes are just beautiful

Shadow remains to be:

  • Well behaved, never destructive, never been naughty Great sleeper in the bed as long as he is next to you he is in his happy place.
  • Great with all dogs and any person we have met or had at the house
  • Great with Cats
  • Loves to eat and has put on a little weight
  • Love his FM and will snuggle forever with me
  • Love to go for car rides and is a magnificent rider (loves the DQ)

Shadow is your perfect senior boy who would love to spend the rest of his days with someone who loves to snuggle.  He will follow you everywhere you go to be beside you!  I cannot say enough good things about this boy.

Please let your placement advisor know if you would like to meet this man!

WOW my foster mom is slacking so I thought I would write a quick note to let everyone know how I am doing.

First Mom sent me away to another foster (just for a short visit), don't know why, but I was returned because I had a bloody nose and she wanted me to see someone at Blue Pearl.  I think we have my treatment plan all figured out - AND no bloody noses for weeks again.  So then I went off to another fosters for 5 days, and that was fun, 5 children to love me - another dog to play with!  I am not that much of a player though, I want to really bad, but my back legs do not let me anymore!!  It makes me mad and sad, but FM plays with me on the floor and I just love that.

I feel better than ever before, I go for walks everyday (I poop in the street every single walk).  Mom is so embarrassed that she has to pick up poop from a walking and pooping dog!!  So I just make sure I do it every time.

Now that fall is here FM takes the three of us to the golf course and we get to run free!!  I have so much fun peeing on everything - wow so much to smell out there.......oh DEAR I hear mom calling, but really quick let me tell you that if you want a couch and bed partner that will love you to the MOON and back, it would be me!!  I am the happiest I have ever been!!  Thanks to everyone that has helped me........................gotta go!!

FM here:  SHADOW BEDAZZLE that is his name here.  He shines like a star!!  He is precious and loves us all!!  Loves his brother Moose and his sister Nellie.  And we love him right back.  Here are some updates:

  • He smiles
  • He yawns and talks to you - So precious
  • His tail is always wagging
  • He loves his food and walks and the couch and the bed!!
  • The bloody noses are far and few between now
  • His legs are getting stronger with all the walks, but will never be the way they were.

He is transforming before our eyes - when you look at the pictures please notice how his hair has gone from thin and soft to thick and curly and soft.  He has totally blown his old coat and in comes some beautiful golden hair, with lovely feathers.

Look at those eyes from when he first came in - Bright and Happy

I love this boy to pieces, and he deserves to have the BEST !!!! Is that YOU :-)

You will not be sorry to give this great man his forever!!

Shhhhhh, don't tell my FM that I am typing on the computer (and eating her Butterfinger she left up here). Tee he...just joking.

Well, I wanted to check in and give you an update! I am doing just fantastic, I am happy and healthy - NO bloody noses anymore since my antibiotic treatment. YIPPIE!

I really love people, will follow you everywhere and will be sitting by your side no matter where you are. Inside or outside, I just love you. :-) If I can sit next to you with my head on your shoulder or in your lap, I am very safe and secure.

I love my walks with my brother and sister, and can walk a pretty good distance (compared to when I first came in) and get excited about it every night. Love my food and get super excited that I am consistently getting food every day. WOW, that is just fabulous.

I love to sleep on the bed at night right next to you!! I am a wonderful sleeper and will sleep until everyone gets up!! I do all my business (as FM puts it) outside and want to come right back in.

I am older and really enjoy the laid-back life that I am enjoying right now!! I am starting to lose my hearing, so I very diligently keep an eye on everyone (it is kinda scary to not hear things), however FM says I will adjust............ Food and couch and a bed and my people........I am pretty sure it does not get better than this.

Well......I could have somebody give me my forever home! Contact your placement advisor if you think you could give me my forever home.

Gotta go now. I hear FM...........What to do with the wrapper? Hummmmm, well, I guess I will eat that too. :-)

Monday, August 12, 2013

Hello everyone Shadow here; it has been a week for me hummm where should I start.............I will start with asking for any sponsors for ME :-).  I have been in and out of the vet (thank you RAGOM) to find out what is going on with my bloody noses. So Tues night I had a bloody nose that was out of the normal :-( so FM made an appointment for me with a ear nose and throat (internal) medicine doctor.  After an entire day of x-rays, nose scopes, flushing out my nose and some biopsies taken, still cannot figure things out.  I got through all the tests great, I am as healthy as a (horse) (what does that mean cuz I am a DOG?).  There was nothing to see with the x-Rays - everything looks great.  We are waiting for the biopsy report (due tomorrow).  But the Dr. said she saw no signs of cancer, or tumors.......keep your paws crossed for me.  I do sneeze often so FM just started me on some herbal sinus pills to see if that helps.  This all could be allergies!!  Maybe come the first frost I will be GREAT!!  who knows.  But thank you RAGOM for all your hard work and financial help to try to figure the issue out.  I am one lucky boy. I LOVE my people - follow you wherever you go!! Sit by your side, lay by your wherever you are, inside or outside.  Sleep on the bed - I have fallen off the bed many times because I like to sleep with my feet in the air and FM is in the way and so is Nellie!!! So I squirm around and lift up the feet and often off the bed I slip............so then I sleep next to the bed.I am PERFECT in every way - and as sweet as the day is long. I love to give kisses when you reach down to kiss me (but just one lick) is all you get. I have hit the jackpot in life, since somebody just dumped me off because they did not want me anymore. I follow you everywhere (but am very content when you leave)  I will just wait for your return. Sometimes if FM goes around the house for to long and I am outside with her then I bark once to let you know I need you!!  But that is the ONLY time I bark.  My brother and sister do all the barking.  I live on a golf course and do not bark at the golfers, but am very intrigued with them.  I am just loving life and probably the happiest I have ever been.............OH WAIT I need MY OWN forever family - then I will be the happiest ever!

Monday, August 5, 2013

Hello everyone Shadow here; I am doing so very well!  I am happy and healthy and I love my people.  So far here is the list of my must haves:

  • Some  love
  • Some food
  • Continue my potty training progress
  • Someone that wants a Velcro boy
  • I don’t require a physical fence however my nose will take me smelling in any direction.
  • I am hard of hearing so you must show me patience, and teach me what you want from me!! I learn quickly.
  • Love walks – I cannot go on super long walks but with time I can build up my legs
  • I am perfect in my kennel, but hopefully my goal would be to have free roam
  • Sometimes I can get a bloody nose, do not know why but have not had one in weeks
  • Cats are unknown – FM is going to take me to get cat tested this week
  • I do not require another dog – but will get along with any dog

I was at two events in the last few weeks and have met some great and wonderful people.  I am a laid back quiet boy, I will follow you everywhere, if you sit I sit right by you and am just grateful I am loved.
